Paid Annual Vacation Under the Labor Code of Armenia
Vacation rights in Armenia are codified under Chapter 19 of the Labor Code of the Republic of Armenia:
- Statutory Minimum Annual Leave:
- For a 5-day working week: 20 working days per year (1.67 working days accrued per month).
- For a 6-day working week: 24 working days per year (2.0 working days accrued per month).
- Vacation Pay Calculation: Vacation pay must be calculated based on average daily earnings over the preceding 12 months and paid at least 3 days before the start of the leave.
- 13 Official Public Holidays: Work on statutory non-working holidays or memorial days (such Genocide Memorial Day April 24) must be compensated at least double the normal hourly/daily rate.
- Prohibition on In-Service Encashment: Encashment of annual leave while continuing employment is illegal; unused accrued vacation can only be financially settled upon contract termination.
Statutory Regulatory Framework: Compliant with the Tax Code of the Republic of Armenia, Labor Code of the Republic of Armenia, Cadastre Committee statutory duties, and regulatory resolutions issued by the State Revenue Committee (SRC) and PSRC.
