Termination & Severance Rights Under the Labor Code of Armenia

Employment terminations in the Republic of Armenia are governed by Article 115 (Notice Periods) and Article 129 (Severance Pay) of the Labor Code of the Republic of Armenia:

  • Mandatory Written Notice (Article 115):
    • Service under 1 year: 14 calendar days.
    • Service 1 to 5 years: 35 calendar days.
    • Service 5 to 10 years: 42 calendar days.
    • Service 10 to 15 years: 49 calendar days.
    • Service over 15 years: 60 calendar days.
  • Statutory Severance Compensation (Article 129):
    • Service under 1 year: 1x average monthly wage.
    • Service 1 to 5 years: 1.4x average monthly wage.
    • Service 5 to 10 years: 1.7x average monthly wage.
    • Service over 10 years: 2.0x average monthly wage.
  • Pay in Lieu of Notice: If an employer terminates the contract before the statutory notice period expires, the employer must pay the employee a daily compensation equal to average daily wage for each business day of unserved notice.
