Statutory Overtime Rules in Aruba
According to the Arbeidsregeling (Labor Regulation of Aruba) managed by the Directie Arbeid en Onderzoek (DAO):
- Standard Work Week: 40 hours per week for commercial and office personnel; maximum 45 hours in hospitality, hotel, and continuous shift operations.
- Weekday Overtime (150% / 1.5x): Hours worked in excess of the normal daily working hours on regular workdays are compensated at 150% of the employee's regular hourly wage.
- Sunday / Scheduled Rest Day (200% / 2.0x): Work performed on a scheduled weekly rest day or Sunday requires a minimum rate of 200% (double time).
- Official Public Holidays (250% / 2.5x): Work performed on recognized national public holidays is compensated at 250% of regular wage (or 200% plus compensatory rest).
