Unlike annual leave, Long Service Leave is governed by state laws:
- NSW: 2 months (8.67 weeks) after 10 years. Pro-rata accessible after 5 years on redundancy, death, illness, or pressing necessity.
- Victoria (LSL Act 2018): Employees can take leave after 7 years of continuous service (at ~1 week per 60 weeks).
- Queensland: 8.67 weeks after 10 years. Pro-rata payable after 7 years on termination.
- South Australia: 13 weeks after 10 years (1.3 weeks per year).
