Pillar 1: Social Insurance (CPF)

  • Mandatory Coverage: All employees aged 18+ working more than 4 hours a week must contribute to the Contributory Pension Fund.
  • Statutory Rate: BD$ 71.84 total per week, split 50/50: BD$ 35.92 employee + BD$ 35.92 employer.
  • Retirement Benefit: Basic monthly pension payable from age 65 based on average yearly contributions (min 484 contributions).

Pillar 2: National Pension Scheme (NPS)

  • Mandatory 10%: 5% employee + 5% employer on pensionable earnings up to BD$ 200,000 per year for Bermudians and spouses of Bermudians.
  • Vesting: Immediate 100% vesting in the employee's personal account with an approved pension provider.
