• Block 1 (0 - 100 kWh): ~E1.92 per kWh (Subsidized Lifeline).
• Block 2 (101 - 350 kWh): ~E2.48 per kWh.
• Block 3 (> 350 kWh): ~E2.95 per kWh.

How EEC Prepaid Electricity (Umkbane) Works
The Eswatini Electricity Company (EEC) utilizes the Incline Block Tariff (IBT) system overseen by the Eswatini Energy Regulatory Authority (ESERA). Under this tiered pricing mechanism, the cost of electricity per unit increases household's cumulative monthly consumption rises.
Consumers who recharge their STS prepaid meters at the beginning of the month receive their units at the lowest tier rate. Once purchases exceed the 100 kWh and 350 kWh thresholds within the same month, subsequent tokens are billed at the higher standard and high-consumption tariff blocks.
