Question 1

How is the total meeting cost calculated?

Accepted Answer

Total meeting cost is calculated as: Number of Attendees × Hourly Compensation × Overhead Multiplier × (Duration in Minutes / 60). Hourly rate is derived from annual salary by dividing by 2,080 working hours.

Question 2

Why should companies include an overhead factor in meeting calculations?

Accepted Answer

Base salaries only account for direct compensation. Corporate overhead (payroll taxes, health benefits, retirement matches, software licenses, office facilities) typically adds 25% to 50% to employee payroll costs.

Question 3

What is Jeff Bezos' 'Two Pizza Rule' for meetings?

Accepted Answer

The Two Pizza Rule states that meetings should never involve more people than two pizzas can feed (~5 to 7 attendees). Larger meetings experience exponential communication overhead and diminishing returns.

Question 4

How does the live ticker function work?

Accepted Answer

The live ticker divides the total hourly cost of all attendees by 3,600 seconds, updating the accumulated dollar expenditure live every single second during your active Zoom, Meet, or conference room meeting.

Question 5

How much capital can shortening meetings by 15 minutes save?

Accepted Answer

Cutting 15 minutes from recurring meetings saves 25% to 33% of attendee calendar cost, returning dozens of productive engineering and executive hours back to the business every month.
