How ACC Weekly Compensation Works in New Zealand
Work vs Non-Work Injury
If injured at work, your employer pays 80% for the first calendar week. If injured outside work (e.g. rugby or around the house), you use sick or annual leave for the first week, and ACC begins payments on Day 8.
Statutory Maximum Cap
The statutory cap from 1 July 2024 is $2,253.94 per week gross. High earners above approx. $146,500 are limited to this weekly cap.
