Articles 76 through 80 of the Codigo del Trabajo de Nicaragua govern annual paid vacation rights:

Entitlement Formula (Art. 76)

  • 15 calendar days of rest for every 6 continuous months worked.
  • Equates to 30 days (1 full month) per calendar year.
  • Accrues systematically at 2.5 calendar days per month.

Monetization Prohibition (Art. 79)

  • Employees cannot waive their leave in exchange for money while the labor contract remains active.
  • Upon termination of employment, any accumulated vacation balance must be fully paid in cash at the final salary rate.
