Article 85 Resignation Rules in Saudi Arabia

If an expatriate employee voluntarily resigns in Saudi Arabia, Article 85 applies strict tiered statutory reductions: Less than 2 years of service yields zero award. Between 2 and 5 years, the employee receives exactly one-third (1/3) of the full award. Between 5 and 10 years, they receive two-thirds (2/3). Only after completing 10 continuous years is the employee entitled to the 100% full severance benefit upon voluntary resignation.
