EDSA Tariff Structure (SLEWRC Regulatory Framework)
Lifeline Subsidy (Social Tier)
- The first 50 kWh of electricity consumed by a domestic customer each month is billed at the social lifeline rate (~SLE 1.85 / kWh) and is exempt from 15% GST.
- Once 50 kWh has been consumed in that calendar month, subsequent top-ups are billed at the standard domestic tariff with 15% GST.
Fixed Meter Service Charge
- A fixed monthly service fee (SLE 12.00) is deducted automatically on the first purchase of every calendar month to cover grid maintenance and meter telemetry.
- All commercial and small industrial establishments pay higher commercial block tariffs without the lifeline exemption.
