Qualifying Requirements & Formula
The National Social Security and Insurance Trust (NASSIT) provides defined benefit pensions:
- Minimum Stage : At least 180 aggregate months (15 years) of paid contributions.
- Base Accrual : 30% of the average monthly earnings of the best 5 years for the first 180 months.
- Incremental Accrual : +1.5% for every additional 12 months of contributions above 180 months.
- Maximum Ceiling : Capped at a maximum replacement rate of 80%.
Retirement Grant (Under 180 Months)
If an insured member attains age 60 without achieving the requisite 180 months:
- The member is not eligible for a monthly pension.
- NASSIT issues a single lump-sum Retirement Grant equal to the total contributions made, compounded with statutory commercial interest.
