Candidates earning a fixed monthly salary of S$22,500 or above, intra-corporate transferees (ICTs) under WTO, or short-term roles (ā¤ 1 month) are automatically exempt from COMPASS.
šļø What is the COMPASS Framework?
The Complementarity Assessment Framework (COMPASS) is a transparent points-based system implemented by the Ministry of Manpower (MOM):
- Requirement: Candidates must score at least 40 points to pass.
- Flexibility: Points can be traded off. A candidate who scores 0 on diversity can still pass if they score 20 on salary and 20 on qualifications.
- MOM Verification: Degree qualifications must be verified via approved screening agencies (e.g. Dataflow, Cisive).
š Bonus Points (C5 & C6)
Bonus criteria reward occupations and companies aligned with Singapore's economic transformation:
- Shortage Occupation List (SOL): Roles in AI, cloud engineering, cybersecurity, and green tech earn up to +20 bonus points.
- Strategic Economic Priorities (SEP): Firms in EDB or Enterprise Singapore development programmes receive +10 bonus points for all EP applicants.
