Tuvalu National Provident Fund (TNPF) Guidelines
Under the TNPF Act 1984:
- Mandatory Scheme: All employed persons in Tuvalu (public service, public corporations, and private businesses) must be registered with TNPF. Combined monthly contributions equal 20% of gross wages (10% employee + 10% employer).
- Retirement Age: Full withdrawal of accumulated balances is permitted at age 55 (or early retirement at age 50 if permanently leaving the workforce).
- Member Benefits: Members may borrow against a portion of their balances for housing construction, overseas medical treatment, or tertiary education loans.
